Rachakonda police booked 1,08,736 violators and collected Rs 10,87,36,000 this year.
Rachakonda police officials said that 34,205 were from Malkajgiri zone, 35,862 from LB Nagar zone, 11,951 from Bhongir zone and 26,718 cases were booked by the traffic wing. They said that 9,666 cases were booked for no mask violation in 2021, amounting to Rs 96,66,000.
Explaining how the violators are booked, city police officials said that those caught driving or riding vehicles without masks are given e-challan and those caught walking are issued e-tickets, which can be paid at any mee-seva. “To impose a stricter rule, we introduced e-ticket software to book such violators. Our prime goal is to make sure everyone follows the rule and wears a mask,” official said.
