There were numerous protests demanding a stop for the Intercity train at Marpally station. As a result of our collective efforts & my representations from Jan 20th 2024, the Bidar - Hyd'bad 17009 Intercity train started halting at Marpally Station. This halt was a 6 months trial. but due to the lack of minimum 40 passengers, the Railways wanted to cancel this halt last month. After my discussions with Railway authorities, the halt was extended by another month. As this extension period is ending tomorrow, as per South Central Railway's letter number T/454/Experimental Stoppages, dated 01.02.2024, a decision was made to withdraw the halt at Marpally. Upon learning this, I again communicated with South Central Railway Deputy General Manager Shri Uday and other senior officials. At my request, they have positively decided to extend the proposed halt at Marpally Railway Station for another six months.
I sincerely request all to use this train. Unless there are at least 40 to 50 passengers daily from Marpally on this Intercity train, 5hey will once again cancel this halt.
I know many of you have motorcycles, But use the train as it is useful for school & college students.
After all the struggles we have gone through to secure this halt, I kindly request your continued support to keep the Intercity train halt at Marpally.
