12 Transgenders Apprehended for Public Nuisance During Cyberabad Police Checks
Cyberabad Police apprehended 12 “transgender” individuals during checks conducted in the Nanakramguda area under the jurisdiction of the Gachibowli Police Station. Arrests led by the Women & Children Safety Wing under DCP K. Srujana, aimed to address complaints of public disturbances in the locality.
Inspector James Babu of the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) and his team formed four special squads to carry out the operation around 9:00 PM on Saturday. The apprehended individuals were reportedly involved in exposing themselves, singing songs, and making gestures to attract public attention, creating a nuisance in public spaces.
The police clarified that the checks were conducted in response to complaints from residents. “This operation was part of our ongoing efforts to maintain public order and address complaints of disturbances,” said a spokesperson from the W&CSW.
The 12 individuals have been taken into custody, and further legal proceedings are underway as the authorities work to ensure public safety and order.
