రచయిత, మాజీ మావోయిస్టు మహ్మద్ హుస్సేన్ ను పోలీసులు జమ్మికుంట లోని ఆయన ఇంటినుండి అక్రమంగా పట్టుకెళ్ళటాన్ని ఖండిస్తున్నాం.

జమ్మికుంట లోని పాత మార్కెట్ వద్ద తన సొంత ఇంటిలో ఉన్న మహమ్మద్ హుస్సేన్ ను ఈరోజు తెల్లవారుజామున ఆరు గంటలకు పోలీసులు దౌర్జన్యం గా ఇంట్లోకి ప్రవేశించి, అరెస్టు నోటీసు లేకుండా, బంధువులకు ఏ విషయమూ తెలియజేయకుండా జీపులో ఎక్కించుకొని వెళ్లిపోయారు. మఫ్టీలో వచ్చిన వాళ్ళు పోలీసులమని చెప్పటం తప్ప, తాము ఎక్కడ నుండి వచ్చాము, ఎందుకు తీసుకెళ్తున్నాము వంటి కనీస సమాచారం కూడా ఇవ్వలేదు. స్థానిక పోలీస్ స్టేషన్లో కూడా సమాచారం లేదు. బందువులు, తెలిసిన వాల్లు అనేక ప్రయత్నాలు చేస్తే కరీంనగర్ పోలీసులనీ, బెల్లంపల్లి పోలీసులనీ అనధికారిక సమాచారం తప్ప అధికారిక సమాచారం ఏదీ లేదు.

మహ్మద్ హుస్సేన్ గత పదిహేనేళ్లుగా సాధారణ, చట్టబద్ధ జీవనం సాగిస్తున్న సీనియర్ సిటిజన్. ఒక పాత పరిచయస్తునికి కోర్టులో స్యూరిటీ పడ్డాడనే ఏకైక కారణంతో, చట్టాలను గౌరవించాల్సిన పోలీసులే ఈ విధంగా అక్రమ పద్ధతుల్లో చట్ట విరుద్ధంగా పట్టుకెళ్లటం పౌరుల రాజ్యాంగ హక్కులను ఉల్లంఘించటమే అవుతుంది. పోలీసులు ఇప్పటికైనా మహమ్మద్ హుస్సేన్ ను ఏదైనా విచారణకై తీసుకెళ్ళి ఉంటే, ఆ విషయం ప్రకటించి, వెంటనే విడుదల చేయాలి.

ప్రజాస్వామ్యాన్ని గౌరవిస్తామని హామీ ఇచ్చిన కాంగ్రెస్ పాలకులు వెంటనే కల్పించుకొని పోలీసుల ఈ దౌర్జన్యాన్నీ, చట్ట బాహ్యతనూ ఆపించి, మహమ్మద్ హుస్సేన్ ను తక్షణమే విడుదల చేయాలని డిమాండ్ చేస్తున్నాం.

ప్రస్తుత ప్రభుత్వం ఈ విషయంలో కల్పించుకోకపోతే గత ప్రభుత్వం లాగానే ఈ ప్రభుత్వం కూడా పోలీసుల చట్ట బాహ్యతను సమర్డిస్తున్నట్టుగా భావించవలసి వస్తుంది.

A scientist from Hyderabad has spearheaded a groundbreaking development

A scientist from Hyderabad has spearheaded a groundbreaking development aimed at protecting farmers from harmful insecticides. 

Praveen Kumar Vemula, a researcher at the Institute for Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine in Bengaluru, has led a team to create an innovative fabric designed for anti-insecticide suits and masks. This lifesaving fabric is expected to significantly reduce the health risks faced by those farmers who spray insecticides without protective gear.

Vemula is an alumnus of Osmania University 

The research findings, titled “Oxime-functionalized anti-insecticide fabric reduces insecticide exposure through dermal and nasal routes, and prevents insecticide-induced neuromuscular dysfunction and mortality,” were published in Nature Communications. 

The study highlights the dangers of insecticide exposure through dermal and nasal routes, particularly for farmers who lack adequate protective gear.

“Acetylcholinesterase plays a crucial role in controlling neuromuscular function. Organophosphate and carbamate insecticides inhibit acetylcholinesterase, leading to severe neuronal and cognitive dysfunction, breathing disorders, loss of endurance, and death. To address this issue, we developed an Oxime-fabric by covalently attaching silylpralidoxime to the cellulose of the fabric,” explained the researchers.

The Oxime-fabric, when stitched into a bodysuit and facemask, efficiently deactivates insecticides upon contact, preventing exposure. 

This innovative fabric prevents insecticide-induced neuronal damage, neuromuscular dysfunction, and loss of endurance. Remarkably, tests showed a 100% survival rate in rats repeatedly exposed to organophosphate insecticide when using the Oxime-fabric, compared to no survival with direct insecticide application or use of normal fabric.

The Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau in along with the Special Operations Team  of Cyberabad, conducted a high-profile raid on "The Cave Pub" located at SV Arcade on Khajaguda Main Road inHyderabad. 

The operation, carried out under the jurisdiction of the Raidurgam Police Station, uncovered extensive drug abuse linked to a "Psychedelic Party," leading to the arrest of 24 individuals who tested positive for narcotics.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝘁𝘀 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀

Upon receiving intelligence about the event, TGANB deployed newly procured technical equipment to the venue, uncovering a disturbing nexus of narcotics and psychotropic drug consumption. Among those detained, DJ operators Sandeep Sharma and Sai Gaurang tested positive for a combination of drugs, including Ganja, Cocaine, and Methamphetamine. The raid also revealed that employees from multinational companies were among the consumers, highlighting the widespread nature of the issue.

Further investigations identified pub managers Abaullah Ayub, also known as Fouzan, and R. Shekar Kumar, along with partners Rajesh, Abhinav, Sai Krishna, and Sunny, as key facilitators of the drug-fueled event. The authorities accused them of intentionally promoting and allowing drug consumption at the party.

Psytrance, short for psychedelic trance, is a genre of electronic dance music (EDM) that emerged in the early 1990s. Originating from Goa, India, this music style is known for its fast tempo, typically around 145-150 beats per minute, and its distinctive, repetitive basslines. The genre often incorporates psychedelic sound effects and samples, creating a 'trippy' auditory experience. Psytrance has deep roots in the global underground dance music scene and is a staple at raves and festivals worldwide.

The arrested individuals have voluntarily admitted to drug abuse. In response, TGANB has decided to involve the families of the accused, encouraging them to join de-addiction programs. Those caught will undergo random drug testing five times and must test negative each time to prove they are not addicted.

This raid underscores the need for heightened vigilance and stringent measures to combat the rising trend of drug abuse in nightlife settings across Hyderabad.

Thanks for all the responses and didn’t know that it would be so overwhelming 🙏🏻 and perhaps  reflects what public suffers on a daily basis when interacting with Government officials. While working in various branches of police , especially Traffic branch , and in civil supplies , I realised that it is only technology and technological interventions(like eseva , e challan , online money transfers to farmers etc)  which can reduce the interaction between government and public and thereby reduce the scope for corruption. 

Am also aware that what my officers told me was only one side of the coin. Am sure that there is a lot more happening and the scourge will be on. It encourages our department and officers that atleast some deterrence has been created with the limited resources we have ,though it may be just the tip of the iceberg . We work , legally, within the laws, rules and limits set and cannot cross them .
