“Smitha apologise publicly in 24 hours” Bala Latha gives ultimatum

Bala Latha Mallavarapu Challenges Smita Sabharwal Over Disability Remarks

“Smitha apologise publicly in 24 hours” Bala Latha gives ultimatum

In a heated response to recent made by IAS officer Smita Sabharwal regarding the disability quota in IAS selection, Bala Latha Mallavarapu of CSB IAS Academy has publicly challenged Sabharwal to sit for the UPSC exam again and beat her score. Mallavarapu made these statements at a press conference held at the Somajiguda Press Club, expressing strong disapproval of Sabharwal's remarks.

Mallavarapu questioned Sabharwal's qualifications to comment on issues related to disabled individuals, arguing that such remarks undermine the judiciary and parliamentary decisions. She emphasized that Sabharwal's words have further marginalized the disabled community, which already faces significant discrimination.

Mallavarapu called for Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to take action against Sabharwal under the Code of Conduct for civil services indiscipline. Highlighting the achievements of disabled individuals like S Jaipal Reddy, who excelled in parliamentary roles, and others who have received prestigious awards like the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan, Mallavarapu stressed that disabilities should not be a basis for discrimination.
She questioned the duration and impact of Sabharwal's fieldwork, particularly during her tenure as CMO under KCR's regime, suggesting that Sabharwal's statements reflect a lack of understanding of administration and the challenges faced by the disabled.

In a bold move, Mallavarapu challenged Sabharwal to take the civil services exam again, asserting that she could score higher. She demanded that Sabharwal retract her comments within 24 hours and warned of a protest at Tank Bund if the government does not respond to the issue by tomorrow.

"The disabled have made remarkable achievements, overcoming significant obstacles. It is painful to hear such uninformed statements from someone in a position of authority," Mallavarapu stated.
