- Students of Nizam College Organized Huge Protest on the road

We, the students of Nizam, are really unhappy and dissatisfied with the government and the college authorities for their anti-student acts. One year ago, we sat outside our classrooms, took to the roads to request a hostel, engaged in a long and strong resistance, skipped classes, and fought with our administration and government. Finally, our demand was accepted, and we were accommodated in the hostel. However, we didn't realize that we were asked to stay in a hostel with multiple problems since the day we joined the girls' hostel.

There is a lack of quality and quantity in the food. There has been a huge water crisis in the hostel for the last five months. We reported this to the principal, warden, in-charge, and everyone in the college. We submitted letters and made over 100 appeals to the authorities. However, our authorities are ignoring our problems. So, we came out today, skipping our classes, to tell the Telangana Smajam that Nizam College, which played a vital role in Telangana, is losing its legacy. We not only have problems in our hostel, but we also have various other issues across the college. When we inquire about it, the administration blames the government and scholarship issues. We want to checkmate our problems.

In our hostel, for which we fought and won, we spent days without water to drink and bathe. We have students from multiple social backgrounds; many here are struggling to even pay exam fees. Many girls are forced to shift to private hostels with big fees due to maintaining menstrual hygiene. Many are daily going out and buying water and using it in the hostel.

"We don't want stories from their side; we want WATER. WE WANT FACILITIES," said Saraswathi, Protest Organizer & Young Student Leader from Nizam College, on behalf of various students.
