*COVID patients’ dignity*
As an Indian every patient whether he or she rich or poor deserves to be treated with dignity. The Supreme Court has held that the right to live with human dignity, enshrined in Article 21, it includes the protection of health also.
Further, the Supreme Court has also been held that the right to health is integral to the right to life and the government has a constitutional obligation to provide health facilities. Government of the day has miserably failed to provide treatment.
Failure of a government & private hospital to provide a patient timely medical treatment results in a violation of the patient’s right to life. Now in government hospitals, patients aren't getting bed. Who is responsible for it ??.
Many private hospitals charging 10 times more against the cap which fixed by the state government. Maintaining and regulating the private and government health services come under the state’s obligation.
