My Home Cements, 4 others issued notices

156 acres Bhoodan lands encroached in Suryapet dist.

Claiming 150 acres Bhoodan land is under the possession of My Home Cements Ltd, Keerthi Ce- ments Industries Ltd and three others in Mellachervu village in Suryapet district, #Telangana Bhoodan Yagna Board has slapped notices on these firms, stating why an order requiring eviction from illegal encroachment of land should not be issued against them.

The Board directed My Home Industries and others to appear before the secretary of Bhoodan Yagna Board at Chief Commissioner of Land Administration (CCLA) office on March 16 for a hearing with documents or proof, if any, in support of their claim.

LAND BEING MISUSED

• Land can only be used for agriculture purpose, not other purposes

However thousands of acresespecially in erstwhile Nalgonda and RR districts, went into hands of private people

"Of the 150 acre encroachment of #Bhoodan land in Mellachervu, 113 acres are now being claimed by My Homes Cements Ltd, 18.20 acres by Keerthi Cements Industries Ltd, 21.20 acres by Jasti Triveni and 3.19 acres are being cla- imed by Pendli Sriramulu and 18 guntas by Varam Rang- aiah. Notices were slapped under Section 24-A of Act No 17 of 2017 Telangana Bhoodan Land and Gram Panchayat Act, 1965. Attempts were ma-de to remove encroachments in that land parcel, but were stopped as My Home Indu- stries and others approached court," a revenue official of Mellachervu mandal said.

'Purchased land from legal owners'

Reacting to the issue of notices being served by the Bhoodan Boarda My Home Group representative said, "The company purchased patta land from its legal ownersIt subsequently submitted all documents for the mutation of the land in its name to the revenue officials who did the needful and even issued a conversion certificate-from agriculture to non-agriculture-following verification of the land".
