ACB Officials searches Multiple Locations in Hyderabad Amid Corruption Allegations

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted extensive inspections across six locations in Hyderabad today, intensifying their efforts to uncover corruption.

The focal point of these investigations is Hyderabad Central Crime Station (CCS) Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Umamaheswara Rao, who is accused of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The ACB initiated searches at Rao's residence in Ashok Nagar early this morning. Simultaneously, the officials extended their scrutiny to the homes of Rao's friends and relatives, aiming to uncover further evidence of illicit asset accumulation.

Rao, who is notably the investigation officer in the high-profile Sahithi Infra cases, finds himself at the center of these investigations. The allegations against him include significant irregularities and misuse of his official position.

In a similar development, earlier Banjara Hills-based businessman Saran Chowdary, has filed a serious complaint against former Task Force Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Radha Kishan Rao, former minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao, and ACP Umamaheswara Rao. Chowdary alleges that in August 2023, he was illegally detained, assaulted, and extorted by the accused.

Chowdary's complaint details how ACP Umamaheswara Rao allegedly kicked, slapped, and coerced him into transferring the ownership of a flat to Vijay, reportedly a relative of former minister.
