Intermediate college Fees Choke Parents

Intermediate college Fees Choke Parents

Parents in Telangana are demanding government intervention to control the fees of private intermediate colleges.

Parents allege that fees have doubled from last year, now standing at around 2 lakh per year for a day scholar in a corporate college. With hostel facilities, fees are around 3 lakh per year.

This means parents need to spend approximately 4 to 6 lakh for their children's intermediate education.

Additionally, parents must also cover transportation and book costs separately.

Around 3 to 4 lakh students enroll in intermediate courses every year in Telangana.

Out of the 3,339 intermediate colleges in Telangana, 1,441 are private. Approximately 2 lakh students study in these private colleges, Sakshi Reported.

On the other hand, college managements argue that the costs of running the colleges, including salaries, have increased.

Sakshi has also reported about this.
