Case Filed Against Unknown Miscreants for Damaging Padma Shri Awardee Mogulaiah’s Plot Wall
The Hayatnagar police have registered a case against unknown miscreants for damaging the compound wall of a plot allotted by the government to renowned folk artist Darshnam Mogulaiah, popularly known as ‘Kinnera Mogulaiah.’ Mogulaiah, who was awarded the Padma Shri in 2022 for his efforts in preserving the traditional art form of the Kinnera, a unique folk musical instrument from Telangana, reported the incident to the authorities.
The plot, located in the Hayatnagar area, was granted to Mogulaiah in recognition of his contributions to Telangana’s cultural heritage. Hayatnagar Inspector of Police P. Nagaraju Goud confirmed that a case has been filed against unknown individuals for the act of vandalism. “We have booked a case and are investigating the incident,” he said, adding that there appears to be no land dispute related to the plot at this time.
Mogulaiah, who is celebrated for his mastery of the Kinnera instrument, expressed his dismay over the incident. Despite the damage, authorities have assured him of their efforts to bring the culprits to justice. Further investigations are underway to identify those responsible for the act.
